sick baby

*****This is from weeks ago, not sure why I never posted it, must have been so tired, I didn't know how to hit the enter key on the computer*****

Harper had a cold, the nose running like a faucet, so much snot the girl needs to wear a bib to keep her shirt dry type of cold.  gross.  I just have been following her around with a tissue all week looking forward to Friday night because I have plans to go out.  I love being an "at home" Mom but I do not do well with the actual "stay at home" part.   Yesterday Harper's cold turned into a 101.6 degree fever (not so bad) but today she was pulling at her ear and squinting at me thru mucus filled eyes.  sigh- its off to the Dr we go!  One ear infection and a double eye infection diagnosis later we are home and she is in bed.  I'm so burned out, I'm just hoping to get thru tomorrow with patience and kindness and REALLY hoping to find the few minutes to change out of my own booger covered clothes....maybe even shower before my night out with the girls.  I believe in the power of positive thinking, It can happen!!!

Is it Spring yet??

poor baby, she was so sick, her eyes were almost swollen shut, but she's still pretty.

Spring!!

April 15th!!!

Olivia loves being five!  She has (with lots of practice and intense pride) mastered both pumping on the swing and blowing bubbles with her gum!  YES!  How fun is it to be five??

We have been having a cold spring, but the last couple of days have been gems.  We were all able to get outside and play on the swing set - Harper LOVES to swing, just like big sister, and start prepping the yard for summer.  I planted some bulbs and I gave Olivia her own garden (one of my half barrels).  We are eagerly waiting to see what sprouts up.

Harper is quickly approaching 19 months old, yikes she's closer to two than one????  She is crazy smart and so quick to follow and copy her sister.  I can only imagine how quickly she is going to grow up on me!  She is running, and climbing on everything.  She has pretty much mastered going up and down the stairs on her own.  She knows most of her animal sounds, says LOTS of words- mama, Dada, Lola, Nana, Papa, NO, baby, cookie, (she still struggles to say Olivia- we've shortened it to Olly to make it easier) She will pretty much mimic anything you say or do.  She is also becoming very opinionated about EVERYTHING, what shoes to wear, if I can change her diaper, she wants to fasten her own buckle, she often fights about putting on her coat- the card in my back pocket has been Olivia.  Harper will almost always listen to Olivia if she won't listen to me.  Tonight she kept running away from me laughing when I was trying to get her jammies on , after several minutes I recruited Olivia and low and behold, Harper just stands there and raises her little arms for sister to get her dressed.  It warms my heart, and I am so grateful for the help.

The big excitement around here is that we recently revealed to Olivia- through a scavenger hunt- that we are taking her to Disney World next month!!  I am so excited!! It will be bittersweet because we are going to leave Harper with Nana and Papa.  I will miss her so much, but I think it would be too much for her at this time, she naps a lot-but only if in her crib....never in her stroller, and she is so young I know she will not remember this.  So sweet Harper , someday when you read these words, please know Mommy and Daddy promise to take you on a Disney World vacation when you are older, and it will be awesome!!  For now, Olivia is so psyched!  We have made our countdown paper chain and I have some tricks up my sleeve to help us pass the next few weeks.  I really am not sure who is more excited her or I.

now for the photos..

Here are some old pictures from her soccer unicorn party that I never posted.....

We had a very fun weekend in St.Louis in March visiting the O'Daniell family!  They took us to the magic house :)

my girls, this was one instance where I let Harper win the battle, she insisted on eating lunch next to O at the kitchen island sitting on the big chair (instead of buckled into her own seat, like she's supposed to)
