Saturday

Its been hard for me to find a big chunk of time to sit down and write, so I am going to try to write the little things that happen all day long (as they happen) and see what happens.

I always have little things that I think , I want to make sure to remember that, then at night when i sit to write, its already gone from my mind.

So,  Saturday May 5th 2012 - Jon's last Saturday of his MBA program.  It's the girls and I , and we are staying home today.

1.  I can tell when Harper is about to wake up because even the she is silent I can hear the slight change in her breathing pattern on the monitor.  I am certain this is a "mom skill"  Its 7:15.  She was up last at 2:30am? I think?  its all kind of blurry.  She sleeps pretty well overall , I wish Olivia would sleep that "late"

2.  7:30am, Olivia cracks me up by coming out of the playroom with her super girl costume on, shouting, "MOM- I need you to tie my costume, but DON"T look at what I'm wearing!!"  I love the four year old mentality of it.  I told her I wouldn't look and she believed that to be true.

3. 9:45am - Olivia fell off the ottoman and exclaimed "ohDunkin Donuts!!"  best exclamation ever.

4. fed Harper pears and dressed a cabbage patch doll at the same time.  mom skills.

5.   Today is going so smoothly, love it.  I'm still in my pj's at 12:45....but that's ok, at least the girls are dressed.  Jon and I are going out tonight to his reception for the MBA program, I'll save my shower for that :)  Harper is sleeping, Olivia is quietly playing a game on the floor while I make her lunch.  I am sneaking some of Harper's pureed carrots into Olivia's mac and cheese.   Before lunch we made bubble wands out of pipe cleaners and blew bubbles outside on the patio.  It really is the small things xoxo

6.  I am steaming organic peas to puree for Harper, while loading up the dishwasher and folding dish towels that just came out of the dryer.  I am the queen of multi tasking (or I have severe ADD).  Oh, and Olivia loved the mac! mom skills!

7. Harper woke up from her nap while I'm in the middle of everything else.....she won't stop crying, I have recruited Olivia to sit on the floor next to her and jiggle rattles at her and tickle her toes.  Its working so far, love that big sister!  put her to work! :)

OK.....well,  I got to number seven and then life got too busy to take breaks to write about it in between.  Jon got home from his LAST DAY OF CLASS!!!!   woot woot!!!  and we had to put on our fancy clothes and attend the NIU reception to celebrate.  Nana and Papa came to babysit and Jon and I were out of there.

So, I want to post this even though I didn't make it through the complete day, it was a simply ordinary day, but each day (even the most non-eventful ones) are full of the tiny memories that i know are the things I will want to remember in the not so distant future.

xoxo
